| SMS using CERN GSMs |
You can use your CERN GSM to send and receive short
messages (160 characters maximum).
To send your text message, address it to the recepient
using his/her complete phone number:
076 487 XXXX or +41 76 487 XXXX or 0041 76 487 XXXX
CERN GSMs have the message center number already pre-configured.
But if you encounter any problem, make sure that the message
center number is correctly set up in your mobile: +41765980000.

From a CERN mobile subscription on Sunrise network:
The sending of SMS messages to any Swiss mobile numbers (also CERN GSMs) is included in the monthly subscription price.
The sending of SMS messages to international mobile numbers is charged 0.19 CHF per message.
From a CERN mobile subscription while roaming:
The reception of SMS messages is free of charged.
The sending of SMS messages to any mobile numbers is charged 0.38 CHF per message.

| SMS from CERN Email accounts |
You can send free of charge short messages to any Swiss mobile numbers (including CERN GSMs)
via your CERN email account:
- The email destination field (To:) must be as follows: phonenumber@mail2sms.cern.ch. The "phonenumber" shall be in international format. For instance, 0041764871234@mail2sms.cern.ch for CERN number 161234.
- SMS messages are limited to 160 characters, which
are a concatenation of the following email fields:
space + Sender_address + space + Email_subject + space
+ Email_body + space.
- Please note, it is not possible to send
it from personal email accounts such MSN,
Yahoo, Free, etc.
